UNH Carnival

The goal of Friday was a competition among ourselves- to win the Chummy Cup again, this time in a classic race. This little incentive helped propel the team to fifth place finishes all around on the day!

We got a sneak peak of the course last Sunday on a gorgeous OD.

Protect This House

This past weekend the Bobcats raced up in Waterville in the Colby Carnival. It was a big deal for two reasons: first, it was the kickoff of Carnival season, which means that the next five weekends are packed with super-raw all-out non-stop extreme ski racing action; second, Saturday's 10/15k freestyle competition was the Chummy Broomhall Cup (a.k.a. the Maine State Championship).

Friday was a slushy, drizzly 5/10k classic. Though not the best day on the whole for the Bobcats, it was marked by some gritty performances and PR results for a few, as well as an introduction to the Carnival scene for all of the first-years racing.

Sometimes it takes a rough day to make you remember how to have a good one. We all know how to hurt; we all know how to ski for a purpose. Saturday's was obvious: to PROTECT THIS HOUSE and bring the Chummy Cup home for the third year in a row. It worked.
